Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player secured his first title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents his maiden title after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had led observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet defended four early-game break points in a close final set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
